EA Sports has officially launched the highly anticipated World's Game Update for EA FC 26, delivering one of the largest content drops the franchise has seen in recent years. Although EA no longer holds the official FIFA license, the developer has created its own international tournament experience that closely mirrors the real-world 2026 World Cup format. Alongside the new competition, players can expect major additions to FC 26 Coins Ultimate Team, Clubs, Career Mode, and Evolution systems.

A New International Tournament Experience

The centerpiece of the update is a brand-new 48-team international tournament available to all players for free. While it is not officially branded as the FIFA World Cup, the competition follows the exact structure of the expanded 2026 tournament.

Teams are divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two nations from each group advancing automatically. The eight best third-place teams also qualify for the knockout stage, creating a Round of 32 before progressing through five elimination rounds to determine the champion.
The update is available across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

More Than 50 National Teams Included

EA FC 26 now features 53 playable national teams as part of the World's Game update. Many of football's biggest nations are fully licensed, including Brazil, Argentina, England, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Morocco, and the United States.

Some teams arrive with partial licensing. Egypt and Japan feature authentic player rosters but lack full federation licensing, while nations such as Algeria, Curaçao, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan appear with generic squads.

EA has stated that licensing restrictions and legal limitations have affected the availability of certain national teams. Meanwhile, Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Congo DR will receive their official kits in a future update.

Players will also find several new stadiums, including Gillette Stadium and BMO Field, alongside a fictional venue designed specifically for Fut 26 Coins international competition.
